All Role-playing will be done in third person past tense. The only exception is your characters journals which of course will be written in first person. Mistakes (grammar and spelling) happen to the best of us but it would be appreciated if you did use spell check before posting (Insanejournal does provide a spell check). |
To keep the Community organized, you are asked to use this simple format when posting a role-play thread. Character(s): (Is your thread open or closed? Is there a specific character you'd like to reply, or is it open to anyone?) Day: (day 1, day 2,...?) Time of Day: (Morning, Afternoon, Night) Location: (Where is your character during this thread?) Rating: (How would you rate this post, PG? U?) Status: (incomplete, complete) We would also like to see large posts (over 200 words) to be under a lj-cut. It makes everything less cluttered. The standard length for a post is one or two structured paragraphs but we do understand that this cannot always be done. Please try to keep the minimum to 3-5 sentences, thank you. Tagging is our friend, so please tag your threads. Tag them with the character names and the day please! |
The limit is seven. But when you first join you can only apply for three. After a month you can apply for more, the moderators will approve them if your first 3 characters are active. You can play 1-4 characters from the same fandom, depending on the number of main characters in that fandom. For example from Harry Potter 4 characters would be fine, but not from Supernatural. This doesn't count for minor characters, who were just seen in 1 episode for example. If you are unsure if you can play all of your characters in this rpg, just comment here and ask. ;-) |
You are not expected to update every day (we are well aware that Real Life does come first), though if we have not seen you for 1-2 weeks and we’ve decided that you’re MIA (Missing in Action) we will send you either an e-mail or comment to one of your posts to see if you're still interested in taking part in the rpg. You will have a week to get back to us and if we do not receive anything from you, your character(s) will be put on the wanted list. If you know you're not going to be able to access a computer for a while then please let us know so our other players can be informed. It’s not very nice to leave another players character stranded in a post if you do not intend on finishing it. After joining the rpg you are expected to post your character(s) in the If something comes up unexpectedly and you will be busy just let us know on the ooc community |
Due to mature situations that may arise in the game you must be 17 or older to participate. Slash is allowed but please be aware that characters are expected to stay pretty canon. Nc-17 rated entries must be marked as so. |
We will role-play one day in the rpg for several days in real life. The moderators will announce when a new day starts. |
For now, no. There are so many canon characters that can be played! Feel free to ask for exceptions though. Maybe we will consider it. |
Generally yes. We have nothing against AU characters. We however won't accepty all kinds of AU characters. We'd like to have at least slightly canon characters. A totally nice and good Voldemort or Sauron for example would not be accepted. An alternate reality version of a character like for example "wish-verse" Buffy would be fine. To be safe and so you're not wasting your time, ask if your idea of an AU character would be considered before applying. |
You are not god and therefore please do not make someone elses character do anything without talking it through with the player! If a character isn't taken and you need that specific character for a plot you can ask the moderators if they would play the character for the time being. |
Characters are supposed to land in the part of the city they belong to. Sometimes that however goes wrong and new arrivaly land outside of town or accidentally on the wrong side of the town. They then have to make their way to their side of the town. The side they belong to is 'calling out to them', pulling them to where they are supposed to be. If a good character for example accidentally ends up in the evil part of town he or she knows which way to go best. It's like an instinct. Every player can decide where the character appears. ;-) In the building with the living quarters the characters find a reception like in hotels. There is noone there to greet them, but a book is lying on the desk with a list of rooms and who is living in them. Once in their room the characters find personal possessions there. The room looks different for every character. It looks like the character would like it. Mostly it's similar to the characters room or flat at home, but it can also look like a character would want the room to look like. The characters also find a welcome letter which explains that they are chosen to fight in the final war between good and evil. |
The characters will get anything they need to survive in the town. Personal posessions will already be in the characters rooms. Food and other necessary things will be provided in shops, restaurants, etc. For vampires synthetic blood will be provided, like in the 'True Blood' TV series/Sookie Stackhouse novels. It will keep vampires "alive" and strong, but it doesn't taste as good as normal blood. -> Vampires can still try to bite people. |
