Does your character want a job?

Good and evil will provide their side of the town with food, drinks, clothes and other things. These things however have to be served in the restaurant/cafe/cocktail bar or given out in the shops. People don't need to pay for anything - money is worthless here. They pay by fighting for their side. The shops however need someone to scan the articles and hand them out. By being scanned items get catalogued and new articles can arrive in the future.

Every job can be held by several people. Noone wants to work all the time after all. ;-) And everyone can have several jobs and/or learn/teach different things.

Military leadership goes by rank. If a character of higher rank appears the leadership will be changed.

There can be several teachers of self defence or magic.
People fight differently and can teach different things. ;-) In magic there are different styles and specialities, so there can be different teachers as well. Characters can be teachers and students, teaching what they know and learning from others.

Everyone can be on guard duty. The more people the better! Noone wants to be on guard duty all the time and there can be several people on duty at the same time.

	I put him on guard duty. He is not military, is he? Then I'm not sure what to do about his liking to give orders. He can still do it of course. 	Well... yes and no? He knows how to handle his swords and in the movie, he did take control of the Golden Army (though not long enough to do much of anything) so he probably has some military background. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Hm, I guess a Prince is higher in rank than a Visser. But there are no Princes among Yeerks. I don't think the Visser would willingly follow anyone who isn't Yeerk and I bet Prince Nuada wouldn't want to follow an alien. I think there would be a power struggle, possibly a fight.
What do you think?

I can leave the position of leader open for now and you can rp the two. We can discuss it on the OOC side with Melinda, if you want to.

If you rp those two I'm going to have to find a way to let my Rachel watch. :-)) She'd so be on Nuadas side.

Well Lee's been the Commander of his own ship and the Commander Air Group (CAG) with the rank of Captain and then Major so he could certainly be in the military structure, but it looks like the leadership roles are filled. He's also been a self defense instructor but we already have one of those. I'm going to say he's so devastated by what he's been through that he's dropped into depression again and will end up as a bartender. Which is something he's said he'd like to do in canon. Plus it will be a fun place to play him from, reluctant warrior. I'm going to try to contact our Kara player to see if she'll do the attempts to kick him in the ass role with me.

Hi!

If you want Lee can still be part of the military structure and do other things. If he's a bit depressed at the moment he can join up later, if he wants to.

There definitely can be more than one self defence teacher. I added that to the description now. I guess I was a little unclear. ;-)

Where would Lee want to be a bartender? I just made a map for the town yesterday and now updated the places in this post, too. So, Lee is free to chose.

The Kara player seems to be missing at the moment. She's a friend of mine and I can't reach her. I'm guessing she has problems with her laptop. It tends to be evil from time to time. :-( You can still try to contact her of course. I'm sure she'll answer as soon as she's back online. And she'll be delighted to have Lee in the game. :-)

I'm playing John Sheppard from Stargate Atlantis. I always thought he and Lee would get along well. They did in a crossover rpg I used to play in. :-) If you want to have them meet let me know. If Kara will be missing for a bit longer John would be willing to try and do some ass kicking, once they know eachother a bit. :-))

I just sent Katie and email because at the least it would make things easier to synchronize what time frame Lee and Kara enter from. I thought about sending it to you also, maybe it should be forwarded to you. Realizing it's well into the evening over there I'm considering waiting until tomorrow to make an introductory OOC post and first game post. That gives her a chance to respond.

As for Lee's position I saw there was a cocktail bar but actually if he's in a depressed state a rougher place might be more appropriate if it existed. Then again this island is so luxurious, compared to what Lee and Kara have been living with, I'm not sure yet how he's going to react. Perhaps with suspicion, perhaps with anger.

I'm just now watching SGA online (haven't had cable in years), midway through S2 (they just sent the "letters" home) so Lee and John meeting might work. I've also considered I might want to try bringing in Cam Mitchell and John Crichton at some point, but for the time being I think one character will be enough for me to handle.

	Having Cam and/or John in the game would be great. I love them both! It's been a while since I saw Farscape, so I've just started rewatching season 1 recently. Love that show! And I so miss SG-1. Wish they hadn't cancelled it. :-( (Reply to this) (Parent)
